Hi there. I’m a writer from South Africa who now lives in Melbourne, Australia.
I write mysteries with a touch of romance, and romances with (usually, but not always) a touch of mystery. This blog began as a writing blog but it soon branched into other topics – some frivolous, some nostalgic. I also write a theatre blog and contribute to a joint blog with several other writers.
How did I get here? Well, I grew up reading Enid Blyton books and Princess Tina magazines, and dancing in local pantomimes. Despite the influence of Alistair MacLean, Indiana Jones and the first Star Wars movie, I gained enough credits to graduate from University.
It’s hardly surprising that I found a career in the world of theatre and make-believe. After twenty years as a stage manager, I started an MBA in the hope that it would lead me into a decent grown-up job. That didn’t happen because my academic writing was invaded by imaginary characters. So I took up writing fiction instead.
After several attempts at churning out meaningful (but turgid) literature, I decided to write the kind of books that I like to read. Further along that road I began to write blogs as well. Three decades in the entertainment industry have supplied me with plenty of material!
I share my life with two cats and loads of books. I no longer work as a stage manager, which gives me more time for other things I love: writing, reading and watching movies – preferably those with happy endings.
I tend to eat too much chocolate and I turn into a serious scrapbooker when the moon is full…

Aw, thank you! Yes, chocolate goes great with EVERYTHING. I’ve kind of gone to making photo books rather than scrapping and probably do more card making these days. A nice piece (or 3) of chocolate and I’m well fueled with inspiration. 🙂

We have two things in common- Enid Blyton books ( which I still read and buy when I see one, which is rarely these days) and writing. I can’t get enough of writing.
